More Hauntings

Not only am I haunted by socks, but by clothes as well.
They are everywhere! It seems as if the clothes are just crawling out of the woodwork.

Clothes on the floor in the boy's bedroom.

On the floor in the back seat of the truck.

At the bottom of the steps. These ones seem to have drug themselves through a bit of mud.

Out by the ghetto pool.

More by the ghetto pool. At least it's on the bench where the boys put all their stuff while they are in the pool.

On the bathroom floor.

I often wonder if those boys think that their clothes are going to get up and walk themselves to the laundry basket?

Jeff has finally had enough of the clothes all over the place and is getting on the boys about leaving their things anywhere and everywhere. It's about time! ;-)

And...here we go!

1. Summer is almost over (sigh).

2. My love for my hubby is unchanged even after all these years.

3. Aargh! The boys fighting is getting on my nerves.

4.A little bit of lovin' in the morning.

5. Seven: is my soccer number as well as my favorite number.

6. My garden tomatoes need to start turning red, don't you think?

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to movie night with the boys, tomorrow my plans include getting wood for the winter and Sunday, I want to play soccer!

A Belated Post

I'm late.
It was 21 days ago.
Luke turned 10.
He is a decade old.
How did this happen?
Where is my cute little boy?

There he is, enjoying a double scoop of ice cream.
Happy birthday big guy!
Love you!

Beach Day Find

We went to the beach yesterday to enjoy the weather and to prevent any fighting of any kind. It was beautiful there. My boys love to search for wild life and this is what Trevor came up with.

What Prompted the Drawings?

Apparently I did.
How you ask?
By being a parent.
Don't we ALL have moments with our children?
Mine seem frequent with Trevor and it seems to happen most when he is tired.
You would think this was a clue and I would catch on right?
Not always.

So this is how it went:

He had an entire day at All Sports Camp which came early after a full week of camping and staying up late. Monday he and his friends bombard the moms into a swim date, we weren't put on the spot or anything. While it didn't happen Monday we did agree to meet Tuesday after All Sports Camp. It involved boys, lots of boys, swimming, eating, playing, and just being boys. The moms had an enjoyable afternoon/dinner while the boys did too.

Where did we go wrong?

Well it was time to go. Go home. This, according to Trevor, was not acceptable. It was already 7:30, the boys were ALL tired and it was time to go to bed so they could function at camp the next day. Trevor would NOT get out of the pool. NOT. AT. ALL. He had me, I didn't feel like going in after him. What did it is that I told him he wouldn't be able to go to his friends house to swim, play, sleep over, etc. if he didn't get out. Very reluctantly, with a lot of noise he got out of the pool. However I am now an IDIOT. His friend is behind me laughing at all the horrible things he is saying to me, so Trevor thinks he is being funny and getting away with it.

We get to the truck and he is still making LOTS of noise. He knows it bugs me when he screams for the sake of screaming. I kicked him out. He had to run about a 1/4 mile. Barefoot. Shirtless. And wet. His brothers looked on with amusement. As I drove by him he gave me his war cry scream and gave me the double bird. This from an 8 year old. What. A. Punk! Who does he think he is? Why does he think he can get away with that?

I don't have the answer.

When he got back inot the truck he learned that he would spend the rest of the week in his room. No TV, no outside time, no computer time, no nothing! That brought on another onslaught of screaming noise of how mean I am.

So his first day in his room prompted the pictures in this post.

Ummm, Yeah.....

My middle son thinks I have it out for him.
Tells me on a regular basis how mean I am.
Here is a picture to show what I am talking about.

If you are having a hard time reading it this is what it says.
"Why do you have to be so mean?"

Once he realized he wasn't being nice to me he came back at me with this picture.

We talk constantly about how he speaks to me and his brothers. This picture might indicate that his is finally "getting it".....I hope.

Facebook Challenge #2

Facebook challenge #2 is complete.

I did another table runner for a friend of mine and presented it to her just before the 4th of July Holiday.

I didn't do a good job taking a picture of it, but I love her sparkler center piece on the table runner. They go well together.

If you look closely the table runner is very festive and perfect for the holiday.

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!

Today is going to be a fun filled day! Local community parade, party at the park with good food and good friends, water slide for the kids, fireworks. What better way to spend the day....with the ones you love.

Facebook Challenge

At the beginning of the year I joined a challenge on facebook to make 5 handmade things with in the year 2011. The premise was if you comment on a friends post regarding handmade items then you had to post the initial post and the first 5 to respond will receive something handmade. And since I commented I, too, will receive something handmade.

Well I finally got off my tail and made the first of 5. I made a cute little table runner for an old friend from high school. I finished it last week and sent it off.

It is very simple in design, as you can see. The front is made up of squares and finished with a border on both ends.

The back is also simple. It has two red panels with a white panel in the middle. I finished the ends off with the same white border as the middle panel.

Very festive don't you think?
