The Magic of 12

12 things I love about Jeff

1. He is a hard working man.
2. He works so hard, I get to stay home with the boys.
3. He is patient with the boys.
4. He loves me despite my short temper, lack of patience, and through all my rants.
5. He will surprise me with flowers for no apparent reason.
6. He tolerates the dog being in the house even though he would rather her be outside.
7. He doesn't complain about my clutter piles....I am getting better at these.
8. If I am having a hard time he will take the boys or send me out the door to cool off.
9. He is patient with me, no matter how ridiculous I am being.
10. He doesn't complain when our school auction takes over our time together.
11. He takes the boys on Sunday's so I can go play soccer with my girlfriends.
12. He has been known to surprise me with a babysitter and a dinner on our anniversary when I had planned on a quiet evening at home.

I Am Haunted

By socks!
Socks on the ground by the truck.

On the living-room floor.....Jeff (who NEVER leaves anything out).

More on the living-room floor.

Under the dining-room table.

In the back room......5 feet from the laundry room.

In a corner in the kitchen.

And in the plants.

My boys leave socks EVERYWHERE! They also leave them in the truck, the Jeep, at the sand pile, in the orchard, on the patio, in the driveway, next to their laundry basket, in the bathroom, in my room (next to a laundry basket), in the tub, in the garden......and the list goes on. I am happy to report that I haven't found one in the toilet.....YET (I hope I didn't jinx myself with that last one).

More from the kids.....

Luke: (Targeted at Trevor) Idiot!
Me: Hey, I know he frustrates you, but don't call him names.
Luke: He makes me SO mad!
Me: I know he does.
Luke: Can't we just take him somewhere so someone can buy him and then he can beat up their kids?
Me: laughing

~~~
Here is a hubbyism:
Hubby and the boys are eating peanuts in the shell. They leave a huge mess on the dining room table and floor. I look at dear loving hubby and tell him it is up to him to get the boys to help him clean up since they are the ones to make the mess.
Hubby: Okay boys, clean up your nuts.
Me: laughing quietly in the kitchen due to my brain falling into the gutter the minute he makes his comment.
~~~

Luke is laying down on my bed and Trevor uses his butt as a pillow. Well Luke toots on Trevor and they are in hysterics. I ask why, here is the answer I get.

Luke: Mom, Trevor was laying on my gas hole and I farted on his face.

Pretty clever if you ask me......better than him saying ASSHOLE.

9 years and still going!

It has been 9 years since we tied the proverbial knot. Nine years, who would have thought? Yay for us right?

I met dear, loving hubby through a mutual friend. At the time I had just started SJSU, was homeless, and really didn't have a job in the area. I house hopped for 6 months until I could move into a brand new apartment and went home every Thursday, which was a 3 hour drive, to go to work. Tuesday morning I would be up at 4 AM to make an 8 o'clock class. I did this for about 6 months. I did land a job at a child care center where I met Laura....the mutual friend. Little did I know that she had plans for me. She had the grand idea to set me up with Jeff, despite the fact I had a boyfriend (eventually I came to my senses about the boyfriend and moved on....with Jeff).

Every time we went out she would make sure Jeff was around. Was he a good guy? Absolutely! Was I interested? Absolutely not! As I said before I moved on from the boyfriend, but kept Jeff at an arm's length for a long while.....I didn't want a boyfriend, I wanted to have fun. Well I did have fun, but Jeff was persistent. Obviously I caved.

We were married 9 years ago in the middle of the redwoods. We rode on a steam train....guests too and had a great time. I'm not your sappy type, but I love him very much and wouldn't change a thing. After all he puts up with my nonsensical rants, bouts of fury and frustration, and on top of it all he is very patient with me and the boys.

Happy Anniversary and I love you Jeff!
